Every Patient Matters

PQC Initiatives- Every Patient Matters

Campaign Goal

Sponsored by the Partnership for Quality Care (PQC), in this campaign more than 10,000 healthcare workers signed a scrub with their story supporting national healthcare reform, to be delivered to their member of Congress in September, 2009.

The voices of healthcare workers have real political strength, and are respected by members of Congress and patients, consumers, and clients alike. This campaign gives PQC members a very direct and simple way to make their voices heard.

Campaign Highlights

Signings in healthcare facilities in more than 28 states. In-district deliveries of signed scrubs at events to members of Congress. Scrubs featured on local television and newspapers.

On September 28, 2009, scrubs were presented to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and to Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis at a rally on the lawn of Capitol Hill. After the rally, participants delivered scrubs to Washington DC congressional offices, passing on constituents’ messages that comprehensive health reform must happen this year. Press attendance included MSNBC, CNN, FOX, The Hill, Politico, AP, CQ, Roll Call, and others.
